Did you get a laugh?

You visited Head-Bone.com and found something interesting about the way it looked or how it worked. So, you found my link on the bottom and arrived here. I hope your impression was a good one. Head-Bone.com was originally designed as a test site for open source content management platforms. If you have visited there before, you know that I change the look and feel from time to time. I also still test new features there before I apply them to a client's web site.

When the project started, there were certain criteria that the site had to meet to be viable for my customers:

  • It had to be search engine friendly to maximize the "organic" search capability.
  • It had to be flexible enough to easily grow and evolve.
  • It had to be easy to add new content with little more than normal word processing skills.
  • It couldn't cost an arm and leg and had to be up and running in a few weeks.
  • And, it had to look different from the other joke sites.

Since you just came from there, you saw that there is a ton of easy to find jokes. It’s reasonably fast, even on a shared server. To save both time and money, it was developed using an open source platform. That gave us plenty of power with a minimum of custom programming. An interesting fact is that Head-Bone.com operates off of the same base programming as this web site. That sure saved a lot of time in the initial development and when updates are available, both sites are upgraded as well. That also saves time in maintenance.

Thanks for your interest.
